Mabusth, Building & Zoning Administrator <br />Stephen Weckman, On-Site System Manager <br />July 14, 1992 <br />SUBJECT: Subdivision #1749, Jim Law^rence - Septic Review <br />I have reviewed the proposed septic system testing and <br />design for this property and would make the following comments. <br />LOT 1 <br />This lot has an existing residence with an on-site sewage <br />treatment system. The system is listed as a substandard system <br />which includes two 800 gallon concrete block septic tanks and <br />approximately 300 s.f. of drain field trenches. The septic <br />system was installed in 1960 and no problems have been noted to <br />date. <br />Soil testing has been provided indicating alternate <br />drainfield site suitable for a four bedroom and a one bedroom <br />guest house. Specific septic system details are included below: <br />Depth of seasonal saturation (mottling) is 1*, <br />requiring a mound. <br />- Slope is 0%, <br />— The percolation rate averages 8.1 minutes per inch at <br />12 inches. <br />Topographic location and site drainage is adequate. <br />All setbacks meet city code <br />LOT 2 <br />Soil testing and septic design have been approved for a five <br />bedroom homo including primary and alternate drainfield sites. <br />Both sites meet MPCA rules Chapter 7080 as well as Orono City <br />Code Section 12.30 requirements. Specific septic system details <br />are included below: <br />Depth of seasonal saturation (mottling) is 1* to 2’ for <br />both primary and alternate drainfield sites. <br />Slope at the primary and alternate drainfield sites is <br />3% and 3% respectively. <br />- Percolation rates average 8.5 minutes per inch at 12 <br />inches. <br />D
