The Planning Board provides the <br />following services to its member municipalities: <br />a method for citizens,providers, and municipal represent <br />County human services decision-making. <br />to be involved in Hennepin <br />information about human sei .'ice needs .md programs <br />leadership in the community for the effectivi mobilization of community resources to meet <br />human service needs <br />staffingassistanceto the municipalities in areas of their involvement in human services as they <br />may request it <br />a referral system for citizens with human services needs and/or problems (i.e. elderly, mentally <br />ill, )outh, etc.) <br />staffingassistanceto community groups who want to organize a human services planning effort <br />to meet specific needs or problems <br />the capability to do research on human service issues and needs <br />planning staff to participate in regional and county human services planning activitieson behalf <br />of the municipalities <br />an avenue to bring county-wide services and programs into our local communities in order to <br />provide better access to our citizens <br />assurance that efforts are being made to coordinate the planning of human services delivery <br />systems and to deter unnecessary duplication of services <br />the ability to make presentations on and provide information about human services needs and <br />delivery systems in the area <br />the means to develop leadership and interest on the part of citizens to be involved in htiman <br />services <br />a way to communicate the concern of the municipalities regarding human service issues to the <br />providers and involved citizens of the area <br />In general, to be available to the municipalities in areas whe^e human services expertise is required. <br />In addition, we provide direct services to the citizensof each municipality in the following areas: <br />• energy conservation (Home Energy Check-jps) <br />• energy assistance <br />• emergency food, shelter, clothing fund <br />Mazebusters - a program to aid low income, single parent families to move towards self- <br />sufficiency
