The steel base metal, its <br />fonaability and zinc coating shall be in accordance with ASTM <br />Designation A525. The zinc coating shall with a minimum of 2.0 <br />ounces per square foot. <br />Aluminum Alloy Plate: Aluminum alloy plate shall be equivalent in <br />strength to 20 gauge steel and be 0.124 inch thick, alloy 5052, H36 <br />Marine Aluminum conforming to the requirements of the Standard <br />Specification for Aluminum-Alloy Sheet and Plate ASTM Designation: <br />8209. <br />Medium Density Polyethylene: Medium density polyethylene shall be <br />black in color having a nominal thickness of 0.1875 inches with an <br />allowable tolerance of ±0.0375 inches and shall meet the following <br />standards: <br />a. <br />b. <br />c. <br />d. <br />e. <br />f. <br />Density: 58.22 pounds per cubic foot ± 3/4%, ASTM 1505. <br />Environmental Stress Cracking F50: 1000 hours, ASTM D1693. <br />Ultimate Tensile Strength Range: 2490 to 2600 pounds per <br />square inch, ASTM D638. <br />Vicant Softening Temperature Range: F 235 to 240° F, ASTM <br />01525. <br />Brittleness Temperature: -180O p, aSTM D746. <br />Flexure Modulus Range: 96,000 to 100,000 pounds per square <br />inch, ASTM D790. <br />1iftino Rings: Lifting rings, where used in lieu of lifting straps <br />or other acceptable methods of removal, shall be of galvanized cast <br />steel of a size sufficient to safely handle the anticipated loads. <br />The rings shall have an internal diameter of 2-1/2 inches. Each <br />pier module to be lifted using rings shall have four rings so <br />located that the unit may be ifted without adversely stressing the <br />pier module. If lifting straps are used the manufacturer shall <br />provide the owner with a pair of straps of adequate strength to lift <br />the heaviest module provided. <br />Galvanized Pioe: Galvanized steel pipe for spud anchorage systems <br />shall conform to the requirements of ASTM Designation: A120 or A123 <br />as applicable. <br />- 10 -
