Floating Dock Involvement <br />a. In the middle 1960*s, was involved in the starting of f :ed <br />Flotation Systems as a dock conponent manufacturer and siiortly <br />thereafter became an engineered dock system maiiufacturing <br />conpany. <br />b. During those 20 years was in charge of United Flotation Systens. <br />c. Developed, by myself, one of United's 4 basic dock designs and <br />was deeply involved in the develo;jment of, and continued <br />modifications of, the other 3 basic designs, with applications to <br />well over 1000 projects. <br />d. Respcnsible for the design of United’s Floating Breakwater which <br />has been successful since the early 1970's. <br />e. Worked 4 years on finding a Pontoon Shell for corrosive waters <br />and first introduced that H.D.P.E. product in the mid 1970*s. <br />f. Developed United's H.D.P.E. Pontoon Shell for which there was a <br />Patent applied for. <br />g. Prepared proposals for United and Private Investors for Corps of <br />Eng'<ne«rs Marina Leases. <br />h. Successfully obtained a Corps of Eiigineer Marina Lease for United <br />McGill in 1972 at East Lynn Lake, West Virginia and then <br />developed and managed that 280 boat operation for about 5 years. <br />i. Have done damage assessment and insurance estimates for dock <br />systems with damage from ice, wind, oil and runaway boats. <br />j. Have made numerous presentations on dock systems to various <br />groups ranging from public interest slide shows to 8 hour design <br />seminars. <br />k. Have written articles on various aspects of dock layout and <br />design. <br />l. Have written contracts, warranties, terms and conditions, <br />mair. .enance and operating manuals and winterization procedures. <br />Have written oper.. closed and restrictive bids specifications. <br />Have layed out nunerous dock systems for most efficient use of <br />water area. <br />Have made valuations of existing dock systems for purpose of <br />resale and purchase. <br />Have made mmerous evaluations of bids to cavpare quality, life <br />expectancy and maintenance costs vs. bid price. <br />Analysis cf contractor request for extras vs. bid specifications <br />and bid docixnents for a government agency. <br />Legal testimony and opinions. <br />Site analysis for approval or rejection of location. <br />t. Installation and installation supervision. <br />u. Preliminary feasibility studies. <br />V.
