April 8, 2024 <br /> Dear Members of the Orono City Council: <br /> We reside at 795 Ferndale Road North and apologize for being unable to attend tonight's <br /> meeting. We wanted to share some thoughts on the proposal for 797 Ferndale Road North. <br /> We moved here in 2015 for the peace and tranquility this neighborhood provides along with the <br /> pristine nature of Lake Lydiard. <br /> We are concerned that placing a building on 797 Ferndale would have an impact to the overall <br /> ecosystem. <br /> 1. It would be the closest property to Lake Lydiard and impact the overall look and feel of <br /> the neighborhood as well as have impacts to the delicate balance of the lake and its <br /> ecosystem. <br /> 2. It would have an impact on property values in our neighborhood —we have a direct view <br /> of the lake from our house and the proposed house would be in our direct view—thus <br /> having a potential impact on our overall enjoyment of the lake and our home's value. <br /> We'd like to keep our point of view in consideration as you proceed forward. <br /> Sincerely, <br /> Scott and Laurie Knutson <br /> 795 Ferndale Road North <br />
