Corrosion protection systea aaintenance. All <br />corrosion protection systems aust be operated and maintained to <br />continuously provide corrosion protection to the metal <br />coaponents of the part of the tank and piping that routinely <br />contains regulated substances and is in contact with the ground. <br />Subp. 3. Cathodic protection systea aaintenance. All <br />underground storage tank systems equipped with cathodic <br />protection systems must be inspected for proper operation by a <br />qualified cathodic protection tester according to the following <br />requireaents: <br />A. all cathodic protection systeas must be tested <br />within six months of installation and at least every three years <br />after that: and <br />8. the criteria that are used to determine that <br />cathodic protection is adequate as required by this subpart must <br />be according to the code of practice in Mational Association of <br />Corrosion Engineers RP-02-85, Control of Exte-nal Corrosion on <br />Metallic Buried* Partially Buried* or Subaerged Liquid Storage <br />SystesM. <br />Subp. 4. Xapresmed current systea maintenance. <br />Underground storage tank systems with impressed current cathodic <br />protection systesw aust also be inspected every 60 days to <br />ensure the equipaent is running properly. <br />Subp. 5. Becordkeeping. for underground storage tank <br />systeas using cathodic protection* records of the operation of <br />the cathodic protection aust b» aaintained according to part <br />7150.0240 to demonstrate conpliaice with the performance <br />standards in this pact.
