The tank construction and corrosion protection are <br />determined by the commissioner to be designed to prevent the <br />release or threatened release of a stored regulated substance in <br />a manner that is no less protective of human health and the <br />environment than items A to O. The commissioner's determination <br />under this item must be obtained in writing and owners and <br />operators must keep the determination for the life of the tank. <br />Subp. 3. Codes of practice for tanks. Codes of practice <br />for subpart 2 are described in items A to C. <br />A. The following codes of practice apply to subpart <br />2. item A: <br />(1) Underwriters Laboratories UL 1316, <br />Class-Piber-Reinforced Plastic Underground Storage TanKs for <br />Petroleum Products; <br />(2J Underwriters Laboratories of Canada <br />CAN4>S61S*-M83, Standard for Reinforced Plastic Underground Tanks <br />for Petroleum Products; or <br />(3) American Society of Testing and Materials <br />04021-86, Standard Specification for Clasa-Piber-Reinforccd <br />Polyester Underground Petroleum Storage Tanks. <br />8. The following codes of practice apply to subpart <br />2, item •: <br />(1) Steel Tank Institute Specifications for <br />STI-P3 System of External Corrosion Protection of Underground <br />Steel Storage Tanks; <br />(2) Underwriters Laboratories OL 1746, Corrosion <br />Protection Systems for Underground Storage Tanks; <br />(3) Underwriters Laboratories of Canada <br />CAN4—S603.1-M8S, Standard for Galvanic Corrosion Protection <br />Systems for Steel Underground Tanks for Flammable and <br />Combustible Liquids; <br />Approved <br />dy Atvffpr
