She felt <br />that the Metropolitan Council should welcome the Stubbs Bay project <br />because of environmentai Issues. <br />It was sioved by Jabbour, to direct staff to submit for approval the <br />coMprehensive plan amendment extending the MUSA line to the Stubbs <br />iay area first. There was not a second and the motion failed. <br />Albln Nelson asked If the Metropolitan Council has the power to <br />veto the profoct. He suggested that the Council do whatever they <br />have to do to ensure the project will proceed. <br />Moorse asked Cook for the deadline date to delete portions of the <br />project from the base bid. <br />Cook answered tha' the deadline is July I4th. <br />Moorse directed him to extend that deadline fo' two weeks. He said <br />the soonest the project could start would be july 23rd. <br />Cook noted that the permit has not been issued from the PCA as they <br />are awaiting approval from the Metropolitan Council. <br />Pat Crane asked If the delay would be for the entire project or <br />Just portions of it. <br />Mayor Peterson noted it Is a delay for the entire project. <br />Meoraa aald that this Issue is not holding up Council’s approval <br />of the Cygnet Place and Leaf Street area in asaesssMnt proposal. <br />iarrett eald that the contracts have been reviewed and are ready <br />for eignature. <br />Moerae eabed the Council to comment on the memo by Saffron on the <br />94/940 la9Ue. <br />Oeettefi aald aha la waiting to hear what else is going to come from <br />the Metropolitan Council. <br />9 <br />iRr <br />.. .. : .a-a.- .... ■'.V . •'ii.5f.'. <br />■i <br />■■}
