The additional request was approved by Council at <br />the May 26, 1992 meeting. In 1989 the Ci»,y applied for $200,000 <br />in M.S.A. funding. <br />The $167,240.60 amount due the County for right of way <br />($103,996.65) and street improvement ($63,243.95) costs will be <br />paid $100,000.00 from the current request for M.S.A. funds and <br />$67,240.60 of M.S.A. funds currently on hand in the Permanent <br />Improvement Revolving Fund (P.I.R.) Road and Bridge Account. <br />(The Road and Bridge Account was established in 1987 through a <br />transfer of accumulated unused monies in the M.S.A. Construction <br />Fund, including $65,253.00 of bonds sold in 1979 but not charged <br />to an M.S.A. project by the State. Thus the May 26, 1992 request <br />for the $165,253.00 of M.S.A. monies includes the $65,253.00 <br />which will be an accounting entry for the State in order to <br />balance our account.) <br />The additional amount for the street lighting portion of <br />$4,347.25 will be covered by P.I.R. General Account monies. The <br />City did levy assessments for most of the street lighting project <br />which when collected with interest should compensate for the <br />additional costs. <br />Requested Council Action: Approval of payment of City of Orono <br />share of final costs for joint project with Hennepin County for <br />the County Road 15 street right of way costs in the amount of <br />$103,996.65, street lighting cost of $4,347.35, and street <br />improvement costs of $63,243.95; and appropriating $67,240.60 <br />from the P.I.R. Road and Bridge Account and $4,347.25 from the <br />P.I.R. General Account.
