MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING <br />HELD JUNE 8, 1992 <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT - CONT. <br />C) Jabbour raportad that ha, Mayor Pataraon, Callahan and JoEltan <br />Hurr mat with tha ONR to discuss potantial public accass si tat. <br />Ha said thay mantionad to tha ONR that Orono’s ralationship with <br />tham goat bayond ona public accass. Ha said that Orono and <br />Minnatrista wara tha first citias to adopt watland philosophias. <br />Ha told tha ONR that tha City looks forward to tha ONR’s input on <br />tha ramifIcatIons of improving tha axisting Highway 12 corridor <br />through Orono, spacificalIy, tha impact of tha southarn aiignmant <br />on tha Luca Lina Trail. <br />0) Jabbour raportad that tha sub-commi ttaa to tha LMCO's Task <br />Forca will maat on Juna 10th and ha will ba in attandanca. <br />E) Jabbour announcad that last waak an Issua was Drought up <br />ragarding his participation in marina issuas. Ha said ha is a <br />marina ownar, and would tharafora stap as I da during discussions of <br />marinas. Ha statad that his concajns about marinas would not <br />subside. Ha noted that tha City Attorney had opined that Jabbour <br />does not have a conflict of interest In this area. <br />Butler said she would hate to sea him withdraw from discussion on <br />this issua. <br />Callahan fait that It was sssantlal that ha continue on tha Lake <br />Use Coaimittss, and stated that if Jabbour is satisfied with the <br />solution that would ba fine with him. <br />F) Callahan rafsrrsd to a latter from the LMCO which alludes to <br />a Joint effort of the LMCO and the ONR to submit a grant <br />application for land acQuisition. He thought there wee a Committee <br />established to determine tha bast site and asked why the grant <br />application at this tiaie. <br />Jabbour reported that the study by the Committee did not move in <br />an appropriate manner which was time-wise appropriate for tho grant <br />application.
