TO: <br />FROM: <br />DATE: <br />Mayor and City Council <br />Ron Moorse, City Administrator <br />May 29, 1992 <br />/9 <br />SUBJECT: 1992 Police Lieutenant Contract Settlement <br />^45 <br />% <br />A settlement has been reached on the 1992 Police Lieutenant labor <br />contract. The items included in the settlement are as follows: <br />1. Wages <br />a. 3% increase to the pay schedule. <br />b. A 2% base pay increase and 1% lump sum payment <br />for the senior Lieutenant whose pay rate is <br />currently above the contract pay schedule. <br />2. Insurance. Increase the City's contribution toward <br />insurance $20.00 per month for a total of $250.00 <br />per month. This is the same amount as all other <br />city employee groups. <br />3. Funeral Leave <br />a. This is the same language as is currently in the <br />City Administrative Policy Manual under emergency <br />leave with a change to allow paid leave time for 3 <br />consecutive "working" days versus 3 consecutive <br />days. <br />Grievance Procedure. Add language to enable the <br />grievance to be taken to mediation by mutual <br />agreement of the City and the Union. <br />5. Holidays. If a Lieutenant is required to work on <br />New Years Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, <br />or Christmas Day he shall receive an additional 4 <br />hours of pay. <br />Council Action Requested. Motion to approve the contract <br />settlement, to authorize the City Administrator to prepare <br />contract language reflecting the settlement items, and to <br />authorize the Mayor and City Administrator to sign the contract. <br />4.
