i <br />;is‘ ■ . <br />^-a ij:'.' <br />MM. <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING <br />HELD MAY 11. 1992 <br />(••13) TEMPORARY EMPLOYEE GOLF COURSE <br />It was moved by Jabbour, seconded by Goetten, to employ Rodney <br />Wagner Jensen as a temporary counter helper at the Orono Golf <br />Course at an hourly rate of $5.00 per hour effective May 7, 1992. <br />Ayes 4. nays 0. <br />(•14) BIO AWARD BEDERWOOO PARK EQUIPMENT <br />Steve Johnston, Park Commission representative, was present. <br />Johnston stated the Committee has recommended to contract with <br />Minnesota Playground Equipment. <br />Jabbour asked If they could act fast enough to avoid addition^ <br />tax. <br />Johnston noted the manufacturer has suggested prepayment and <br />offered an additional discount. <br />Moorse stated that the Legislature has restricted payment until <br />merchandise is shipped. <br />Jabbour suggested they contact the low bidder and suggest <br />acceptance is contingent upon delivery before the increase. <br />Butler asked the height of the slide. <br />Johnston said to the platform, the height of the slide Is 9’. He <br />noted the residents of the area have asked the poles to bo redwood <br />Instead of aluminum. <br />It was moved by Jabbour, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to authorize <br />the purchase of park equipment for Bederwood Park from Minnesota <br />Playground for an amount not to exceed $18,592 to be paid for from <br />Park Dedication Funds, and to attempt to have delivered prior to <br />the sales tax increase. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />(•15) PAYMENT REQUEST - PRE~ENGINEERED PUBLIC WORKS BUILDING <br />Moorse explained this is the second payment for materials for the <br />public works building. He noted that both payments combined <br />represent a total of 100» of the cost of the materials for that <br />buiIding. <br />8
