Gerhardson/ Public Works Director <br />DATE:May 20, 1992 <br />SUBJECT: Utility Tractor <br />Attached is a previous memo recommending the award of the <br />bid for a utility tractor for the Public Works Department. This <br />matter was tabled originally so that clarification of certain <br />issues could be resolved. <br />At the budget workshops on May 13 the Council suggested we <br />proceed with the purchase to avoid any additional costs. <br />This purchase is now in process. <br />It should be noted that when we estimated the cost of this <br />equipment for budgeting purposes the amount entered in the budget <br />was $21,000. <br />The low bid was $23,896. Previous purchases have come in <br />under the estimated amount such as a trailer for the park mower, <br />was estimated at $5,000 and was actually purchased for $3,225 and <br />the power broom attachment was estimated at $5,000 and purchased <br />for $4,068. Future purchases will also be reviewed so that the <br />overall total does not exceed the estimated amounts in the <br />budget. <br />Recommendation: To confirm Council action of May 13, 1992 <br />to award the bid for the utility tractor to Scharber and Sons for <br />an amount of $23,896. <br />Proposed Motion: Moved by , seconded by , to <br />confirm Council action of May 13, 1992 to award the bid ^or the <br />utility tractor to Scharber and Sons for an amount of $23,896. <br />Ayes _ _, nays_ _. <br />ima <br />4 <br />__. >
