Minutes <br />Planning Commission Regular Meeting <br />Tuesday, February 20, 2024, 6:00 PM <br />City Council Chambers 2780 Kelley Parkway, Orono, MN 55356 <br /> <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />1. Acting Chair Ressler called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m., followed by the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br /> <br />2. ROLL CALL <br />Orono Planning Commission members present: Acting Chair Jon Ressler, Commissioners Dennis Libby, <br />Bob Erickson, and Gary Kraemer. Chair Chris Bollis and Commissioners Mark McCutcheon and Ted <br />Schultze were absent. <br /> <br />Staff present: Community Development Director Laura Oakden, City Planner Melanie Curtis, and City <br />Planner Natalie Nye. <br /> <br />3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Libby moved, Erickson seconded, to approve the Agenda. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />4. APPROVAL OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES OF JANUARY 16, <br />2024 <br /> <br />Libby moved, Kraemer seconded, to approve the minutes of the Orono Planning Commission <br />meeting of January 16, 2024. VOTE: Ayes 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />5. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />5.1. LA24-000005 Recodification – Phase 1,Text Amendment <br /> <br />The Planning Commission is requested to review the Staff report, receive a presentation, and discuss and <br />recommend approval of adopting the proposed changes to Chapters 78 and 82 of the City Code. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission discussed the item and asked questions of staff. <br /> <br />Acting Chair Ressler opened the public hearing at 6:12 p.m. <br /> <br />Dan Gustafson, 1040 E. Circle Dr. Wayzata, said he had submitted comments related to another chapter <br />of the Code. <br /> <br />Acting Chair Ressler closed the public hearing at 6:13 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioners asked for clarification of the proposed change to a five-foot setback for fences with <br />monuments. <br /> <br />Erickson moved, Kraemer seconded, to recommend approval of LA24-000005, Phase 1, Text <br />Amendment as presented. VOTE: Ayes: 4, Nays 0. <br /> <br />6. OTHER ITEMS <br /> <br />6.1 LA24-000003, Brett Larson, 2480 Carman Street, Sketch Plan <br /> <br />3
