Storage. <br />(a) It is unlawful for any person to store refuse on residential dwelling premises for more than one week. All <br />such storage shall be in five- to 50-gallon metal or plastic containers with tightfitting covers, which shall be <br />maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. Tree leaves, weeds and grass clippings may be stored in plastic <br />bags and tree limbs must be stored in bundles weighing no more than 75 pounds and no longer than four <br />feet. <br />(b) It is unlawful for any person to store refuse on multiple dwelling premises for more than one week. Such <br />storage shall be in containers as for residential dwelling premises; except that containers, sometimes <br />referred to as dumpsters, with closefitting covers may be substituted. <br />(c) It is unlawful for any person to store refuse on commercial establishment premises for more than 48 hours. <br />Such storage shall be in containers as for residential dwelling premises; except that containers, sometimes <br />referred to as dumpsters, with closefitting covers may be substituted. <br />(d) It is unlawful to store organic refuse unless it is drained and wrapped. <br />(e) All refuse and garbage deposited in containers for pickup shall not be stored in the area between the street <br />and the front plane of the house or garage on non-collection days or shall be must be kept within a building. <br />or behind the most streetward portion of the principal or accessory building on the property which is closest <br />to the street. the yard setback line for the district in which the property is located. Refuse must be deposited <br />at one place, at ground level, on each property. Refuse containers must be returned and placed behind the <br />yard setback lineto the storage location by the owner or tenant on the same day that the garbage or refuse is <br />collected. The intent of this subsection is to allow only placement at the curb only on the evening prior to <br />evening and the day of collection the garbage or refuse container to be in front of the yard setback line. <br /> <br /> <br />(Code 1984, § 9.01(2)) <br /> <br />120
