Here are the details of the event that you reque.sted <br />for a one time special event permit. <br />The MS 50 will take plac'. on Saturday, May 9th, 1992. <br />Participants will start and finish at Eisenhower Community <br />Center in Hopkins. basically, the tour is from Hopkins to <br />Watertown and back. I hai'e incluied a route mip and a copy <br />of our insurance. <br />The ride will begin promptly at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday <br />morning. Riders will ride north to the Luce Line Trail and <br />follow the trail west to Watertown. In Watertown, they <br />v/ill turn around and follow County Highway 20 back east <br />returning to Hopkins. <br />Rest st-ps are highlighted in yellow on the included map. <br />The Deportment of Natural Resources is issuing a special <br />events permit to use the trail on that day. The rest stops <br />will be staffed by 4 to 6 volunteers. Volunteers will park <br />in available parking spaces and walk to the rest stop site <br />to alleviate congestion at the rest stop area. <br />Traffic Control: <br />All participants will comply with local traffic markings, <br />signs and signals as they would if they were riding alone. <br />Approaching motorists will be notified of the approaching <br />tour in two ways. ^irst, the cyclists will be led, <br />patrolled and followed by ten professional motorcycle <br />escorts with flashing hazard and warning lights. Secondly, <br />the route will be patrolled by five sag wagons with trained <br />medical professionals inside. The sag vehicles will have <br />large orange "Caution Bike Tour" ligns and slow moving <br />vehicle signs posted on the rear and side panels. <br />Rfni--r/}h>r u.-> in yn:ir f^n irur.
