Gadbaw and Arliss A. Gadbaw <br />(hereinafter "the applicants") are owners of the property located at <br />699 Minnetonka Highland Lane within the City of Orono (hereinafter <br />"City") and legally described as Lot 5, Block 2, Minnetonka Highland <br />Estates, Hennepin County, Minnesota (hereinafter "the property"); and <br />WHEREAS, the applicants have applied to the City for a <br />variance to Municipal Zoning Code Section 10.22, Subdivision 2 to <br />permit the construction of a 20'x28' portico/carport addition to the <br />southeast side of the existing residence resulting in 650 s.f. or 2.6% <br />increase in hardcover in the 75-250' setback area where 7,144 s.f. or <br />29.51% exists and where only 25% is allowed. <br />Minnesota: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Orono, <br />FINDINGS <br />1. <br />2. <br />This application was reviewed as Zoning File #1717. <br />The property is located in the LR-IB Lake Shore Residential <br />Zoning District requiring one acre in area. The property <br />consists of 43,086 s.f. or .99 acres. <br />3.The Orcno Planning Commission reviewed this application on <br />March 16, 1592, and recommended approval of the proposed <br />variances based upon the following ha’'i;^hips and findings: <br />a) The existing 10% slope within driveway requires <br />maintaining total paved area for safe accessibility. <br />The location of house on lot. <br />Pace 1 of 4
