• « W ♦ <br />3 / 9 J <br />SUMMARY INFORMATION ON WeCAN’S HOPE 3 GRANT APPLICATION <br />p. 2 <br />WoCAN GRANT APPLICATION SimMARY <br />WeCAN is applying for a $50,000 HOPE 3 Planning Grant for the <br />purposes of assessing the stock of eligible properties, training <br />and technical assistance, feasibility studies, ic.*ntification o <br />counseling/traini ng curricula and sources, planning for eligible <br />economic development activities for homebuyers, administrative <br />costs, and preparing an Implementation Grant application. <br />WeCAN*S HOPE 3 PLANNING GRANT BUDGET <br />WeCAN will apply to use a $50,000 HOPE 3 Planning Grant as follows: <br />$35,000 Housing Program Manager, gross salary <br />Administrati :>n <br />Clerical support <br />Equipment and supplies <br />Training & technical assistance <br />TOTAL <br />7.500 <br />3,000 <br />3,000 <br />1.500 <br />$50,000 <br />GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE <br />The area WeCAN' is proposing to work in includes the cities of <br />Spring Park, Tonka Bay, Mound, eastern Minnetrista, .and western <br />Orono. <br />PROJ ECT GOALS <br />Planning work goals are the following: <br />f To identify and assess at least 10 eligible properties in this <br />t To^identif/ about 25 potential low-income families who could <br />qualify aj first-time homebuyers under a HOPE 3 Implementation <br />Grant ^ m <br />> To provide training and technical assistance to at least lu <br />WeCAN Boardmembers, Housing Committee members, and other <br />interested community leaders in the formation and management or <br />a nonprofit housing development corporation capable of operating <br />a HOPE 3 Implementation Grant ^ e ■ *. f; <br />* To identify housing support services appropriate lor tirst-time <br />homebuyers, such as financial counseling, home r,= pair and home <br />maintenance education, and job training and self-sufficiency <br />activities „ <br />* To conduct feasibility studies on making specific properties <br />affordable to eligible low-income families <br />* To conduct feasibility studies cn operating a cost-ettective, <br />meaningful homeownership program <br />* To preppre a HOPE 3 Implementation Grant application <br />J
