p.: <br />kr <br />P1^' <br />>r>iur <br />¥'i?,, ■ <br />■ <br />i- <br />svi:feP" <br />i“fci, <br />:Sr;v‘', <br />gffi'a:^v <br />r>^ <br />^■'.v <br />m- <br />%I <br />r ■ <br />p. <br />I <br />MINUTES OP THE REGDI»AR ORONO COUNCIL'MEETING HELD MARCH 23, 1992 <br />CONTIN .ii:0 PUBLIC HEARING - YEAR XVIII CDBG FUNDING - CONT <br />Callahan noted that giving money to Park Planning does not disturb him <br />but in the past there has been a potential amount of money given <br />towards the sewer assessments and if we don't have to allocate all of <br />this right now, he would suggest Plan "B" or partially, to give the <br />$1,000 to WECAN, $1,000 to Westonka, $2,000 to make up the grant money <br />for the Interfaith Outreach, keep the $1,700 for the Park Planning and <br />hold the rest to see if there is somebody that needs it in connection <br />with sewer assessments. <br />Moorse explained that there is eighteen months from June to spend this <br />money and asked if it needed to be allocated by a certain date. <br />Gerhardson explained that it needed to be done by the 30th of March. <br />If certain monies aren’t used, they can be reallocated at another time <br />and ecause there are more options today, you don't have to lose it. <br />Jabbour stated that there should be a deadline for unused funds so the <br />funds can be reallocated and felt that Plan A should be implemented. <br />Mayor Peterson felt that a small portion of the money should be used <br />within the community and that using it for Park Planning is <br />appropriate. <br />Callahan suggested that instead of giving $20,000.00 to Housing <br />Rehabilitation it should be assigned to assessment grants for the <br />Stubbs Bay sewer and next year perhaps there would $40,000.00 to <br />contribute. <br />Moorse interjected that HUD has had some rule changes and won't let it <br />be used for that purpose any more. <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by Mayor Peterson, to adopt <br />Resolution #3100 for funding from the Year XVIII Urban Hennepin County <br />Community Development Block Grant program as follows: <br />Project Budget <br />Interfaith Outreach Community Partners $ 1,000 <br />Westonka Intervention 1,000 <br />Westonka Community Action 1,000 <br />Housing Rehabilitation 20,000 <br />Park Planning 2,736 <br />Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />(#2) CONSENT AGENDA <br />Goetten removed Items #3, 22, 23, 25 from the consent agenda. <br />Jabbour added Items #7, 9, 10 to the consent agenda. <br />Callahan added Items #11 and 19 to the consent agenda. <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded bv Mayor Peterson, to approve the <br />Consent Agenda.
