Affected communities <br />are those where Triax is regulated by the <br />Lake Minnetonka Cable Communica ­ <br />tions Commissioa <br />“We are including a bill staffer explain ­ <br />ing the changes in March invoices," said <br />Paul Nazarow, regional manager for Tri­ <br />ax. "These changes merely clarify the <br />bill format" <br />Earlier this year, cable TV bills were <br />changed to identify the franchise fee Tri­ <br />ax pays to local governments. The fran ­ <br />chise fee, which has always been part of <br />the cost of cable TV, pays for local pro ­ <br />gramming and regulatory services. Daniels, admin ­ <br />istrator for the Lake Minnetonka <br />Cable Communications Com ­ <br />mission, has been elected to the <br />board of directors of the Minnesota <br />Association of Cable Television <br />Administrators (MACTA). <br />Cable Commission Chair <br />Barba a Brancd explained, "The <br />Cable Commission serves as the <br />cable authority for our 14 cities, <br />and the election of Jim Daniels <br />means we will continue to have <br />our voice and needs heard at the <br />state and national regulafory level ” <br />"MACrA has approximately <br />150 member cities, and I’m very <br />pleased to represent our 14 <br />communities at the state <br />association.’* said Daniels. “This <br />will provide input and direction <br />toward legislation that will impact <br />our cities and citizens in areas such <br />as regulatory authority, cable <br />services, local public programming <br />and the process of franchise <br />renewal." <br />The 14 cities represented are <br />Deephaven, Excelsior, Greenwood, <br />Minnetrista, Minnetonka Beach, <br />Orono, Shorewood.
