Gerhardson, Public Works Director <br />March 20, 1992 <br />Placement of Class 5 Gravel - Town Hall Road <br />COUNCIL MEETIN <br />MAR 2 3 1992 <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />0 <br />It is necessary to place additional Class 5 gravel on the <br />frontage road to withstand the heavy loads of material that must <br />be brought into the facility site during the time that the road <br />is vulnerable to damage from that type of activity. <br />We will place a heavier section on one side of the road to <br />bring the loaded trucks in and then when load limits are off, <br />contaminated material will be removed and the balance of the <br />material will be placed on the remainder of the road prior to <br />paving. <br />The additional amount of gravel amounts to approximately 360 <br />tons of which some of the gravel can be used in the parking lots <br />on the facility site. <br />The maximum amount of overrun will be $2,375.
