1-1 <br />RESOLUTION #652 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF ORONO <br />TO PARTICIPATE WITH THE COUNTY IN THE <br />HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1974 <br />WHEREAS, The Housing and Community Development Act of <br />1974, Public Law 93-383, authorizes the formation of "urban <br />counties," and <br />WHEREAS, Hennepin County has joined with municipalities <br />totaling in population over 200,000 people thereby forming such <br />an "urban county" under the Act, and <br />WHEREAS, it appears to be to the advantage of the City <br />of Orono to join with the County for the second and subsequent <br />years of this program, <br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Orono, <br />a duly constituted local government in Hennepin County, that the <br />City join with the County, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes 471.59, <br />to accomplish the eligible activities denoted in Section 570.200 <br />of the rules and regulations to Public Law 93-383, and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and the Administrator <br />be and are hereby authorized to sign on behalf of the City the <br />joint powers agreement attached hereto. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota at a <br />regular meeting held December 8, 1975. <br />Robert L.
