ORONO COUNCIL MEETING HELD SEPTEMBER 23, 1975 <br />As we review the request for acquisition of the <br />subject trunk sewer as a metropolitan facility, <br />we request that the City of Orono permit the <br />0 -` continued availability of sanitary sewer service <br />to the City of Minnetonka Beach in accordance <br />with the approved CSP. A rental agreement with <br />the Commission or the City of Minnetonka Beach <br />could be executed to provide this interim need. <br />The total volume of this sewage flow will be <br />deducted from the Orono sewage flow and assigned <br />to Minnetonka Beach." <br />Mr. McCombs introduced a joint use rental <br />agreement drafted by the Metro Council and <br />recommended by the City Engineer to be <br />exercised by Orono to implement an agreement <br />whereas the Metro Board agrees to pay Orono <br />rental for the use, operation and maintenance <br />of its interceptor, trunk and lift stations <br />serving Minnetonka Beach until Metro has <br />finalized the purchase agreement. <br />Paurus moved, Massengale seconded, to adopt <br />Resolution #640 entering into a joint use <br />rental agreement with the Metro Sewer Board, <br />instructing the Mayor and Administrator to <br />sign and expedite same. Motion, Ayes (5) - <br />Nays (0) . <br />Paurus moved, Butler seconded, to instruct the <br />City staff to notify Minnetonka Beach that they <br />_ may connect to the Orono sewer lines after <br />final execution of the joint use rental agreement <br />by the Metro Council. If there is significant <br />delay by the Metro Council to act on this <br />agreement, when the sewer lines in Minnetonka <br />Beach are ready for domestic use, it is agreed <br />by the representatives of Minnetonka Beach <br />that they will enter into a rental agreement <br />with Orono for reimbursement until such time <br />that the interceptor purchase is completed. <br />Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0). <br />Paurus moved, Massengale seconded, to adopt <br />Resolution #641, instructing the Mayor and <br />Administrator to negotiate and sign an agreement <br />with the City of Minnetonka Beach to maintain <br />Minnetonka Beach's five miles of sewer lines and <br />four lift stations. Motion, Ayes (5) - Nays (0) <br />Butler moved, Searles seconded, that the City <br />Council will meet Thursday, October 2, 1975 <br />at 7:30 P.M. to adopt the 1976 Budget and act <br />on other City business that is at hand.
