• RESOLUTION NO. 613 <br />RESOLUTION SUPPORTING REQUEST FOR <br />DESIGNATION OF ORONO SEWER AS METRO- <br />POLITAN INTERCEPTOR. <br />WHEREAS, a certain sanitary sewer system presently <br />flowing through the City of Orono and serving its residents <br />was designed with capacity to serve all of the City of <br />Minnetonka Beach, which city is also of a land area greater <br />than 75 acres and which is completely surrounded by the <br />City of Orono, and <br />WHEREAS, that sanitary sewer system was constructed <br />prior to 1970, and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the approved Comprehensive Sewer <br />Plan the sanitary sewer will serve as an interceptor sewer <br />for the sewer system constructed in Minnetonka Beach, and <br />will flow through Orono to Metropolitan Sewer facilities, <br />and <br />• WHEREAS, the City of Minnetonka Beach has no other <br />economic or effective method of connecting to the Metropolitan <br />Sewer System, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Orono <br />requests the sanitary gravity sewers, forcemains, lift <br />stations and appurtenances which traverse through Orono from <br />the City of Minnetonka Beach to the Metropolitan Sewer <br />facilities be designated a metropolitan interceptor and <br />purchased from the City of Orono by the Metropolitan Council <br />and Metropolitan Sewer Board. Further that, the above - <br />referenced sanitary gravity sewers, forcemains, lift stations <br />and appurtenances have been installed by the City of Orono <br />at its own expense and have the capacity to provide service <br />to the City of Minnetonka Beach in accordance with approved <br />Comprehensive Sewer Plans. <br />Adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono this <br />24th day of June , 1975. <br />Q�'e1 ' <br />Robert L.
