interest, including other dedicated rights-of-way for travel purposes and utility easements of <br /> local government units. <br /> Utility Service means services provided by: (l) a public utility as defined in Minnesota <br /> Statutes; (2) a telecommunications, pipeline, community antenna television, fire and alarm <br /> communications,water, sewer, electricity, light,heat, cooling energy, or power services <br /> including wind generation; (3) a corporation organized for the purposes set forth in Minnesota <br /> Statutes; (4) a district heating or cooling system; or (5) a cable communication system as <br /> defined in Minnesota Statutes. <br /> Sec. 18-2. Obstructions. <br /> It is a misdemeanor for any person to place, deposit, display or offer for sale any fence, <br /> goods or other obstructions upon, over, across or under any street or private road without first <br /> having obtained a written permit from the city, and then only in compliance in all respects with <br /> the terms and conditions of such peiiiiit, and taking precautionary measures for the protection of <br /> the public. An electrical cord or device of any kind is included, but not by way of limitation, <br /> within the definition of an obstruction. This shall not apply to the actions of any city, county, or <br /> state road authorities, their agents, employees, contractors, and utilities in carrying out their <br /> duties imposed by law or contract.
