Our <br />would like to see you, the local merchants f i^5 jr <br />educate your employees (both male and female) with this n • <br />you do have an employee who does show interest, <br />appreciative if you would allow this person to depart from their <br />workplace to answer emergency calls during the daytime hours. <br />Our Fire Department answers calls 24 hours a day, however, our <br />daytime call response from firefighters lias been on the low side. <br />It is an occurance that most volunteer fire departments feel as a <br />good number of members work primarily outside the c^^ty and <br />mostly during daytime business hours, thus creating a smaller number <br />of available responding firefighters. 4.u 11 <br />There is an application process that takes place with all <br />applicant firefighters along with certain eligibility requirements <br />that need to be met. All of these specifics and training require­ <br />ments are discussed following application. For all applicants, <br />here are some brief me.mbership requirements to keep in mind; <br />1) Need to be 10 years or older with proof of high school diploma <br />2) Available for daytime alarms and is within 2 road miles of <br />E.F.D. for 8 hours/day between the hours of 6am-6pm, S days/week.or <br />3) Resides within 3 road miles of the E.F.D. or <br />4) Is a resident of the service area of the E.F.D. <br />Once again, this is one method we could reach you to explain <br />our need. .We hope that you will share this with all of your <br />employees...It'8 for the good of the communities that we live in. <br />If you or your employees have any questions regarding The Excelsior <br />Fire Department please call 474-5364 and leave a message and <br />someone will return your call.
