«1' <br />r*. <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE SCHOOL BOARD <br />OF ORONO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 278 <br />held ON DECEMBER 9, 1991 <br />Prior to the start of the Board meeting, the Board members met with the high <br />school Student Advisory Council in order to provide the high school student <br />population the opportunity for communication/discussion with the Board of <br />Education. These meetings will be held quarterly as a result of legislation <br />that was passed last year. <br />The regular meeting of the School Board of Orono Independent School District No. <br />278 was held on Monday, December 9, 1991. <br />Present: David McKown <br />Don Anderson <br />James Franklin <br />John Maresh <br />Peg Swanson <br />Martha Van de Ven <br />Thomas Mich <br />Neal Lawson <br />Chairperson McKown opened the public hearing on tne proposed u-x levy at 7:20 <br />p.m. and called on Neal Lawson, Assistant Superintendent for Business Affairs, <br />who provided a brief sufnmary of the levy. Mr. Lawson answered questions for <br />clarification purposes. <br />Dave McKown expressed appreciation to Dr. Mich and Mr. Lawson for their <br />work/efforts in this area. <br />There being no further comnients, Mr. McKown closed the public hearing at 7:30 <br />p.m <br />Member John Maresh introduced the following resolution ana moved its adoption: <br />RESOLVED:That the Board of Education adopt the final property tax levy for <br />1991, payable 1992 as shown below, and direct the Clerk to cer <br />tify the levy to the Hennepin County Aduitor on or before five <br />(5) business days after December 20, 1991. <br />General Fund (Maintenance) <br />Transportation <br />Community Service <br />Capitol Expenditure <br />General Debt Service <br />$ 8,885,763.64 <br />841,383.20 <br />203,620.64 <br />794,138.69 <br />282,357.68 <br />Total $11,007,263.85 <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Jim <br />Franklin and upon vote being taken, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Swanson, Maresh, Van de Ven, Franklin, Anderson, McKown <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None
