MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL HBBTINO <br />HELD JANUARY 13, 1992 <br />SBWAOB TREATMENT PLANT PROPERTY PLAN PROPOSAL - CONT. <br />Callahan preferred to give the matter some thought before action <br />is taken. <br />Flint noted they would like to do something with this property in <br />the summer of 1992. <br />Butler noted the proposal is a great compromise. <br />Habusth explained this proposal could be brought before the <br />Planning Commission as an informational item. <br />It was moved by Callahan, seconded by Jabbour, to refer the <br />proposed plan for the sewage treatment plant property to the <br />Planning Commission as an informational item, and to table any <br />decision on the proposal until after the adoption of the <br />shoreland regulations and the removal of the moratorium. Ayes 4, <br />nays 0. <br />Flint asked what they should plan for with regards to this <br />property for this year. <br />Callahan explained the shoreland regulations will be reviewed by <br />the Planning Commission at their February meeting. He noted that <br />they could still make plans for the property for the upcoming <br />summer. <br />Jabbour noted that the park land can be developed and used -ior <br />to subdivision approval. <br />(•6B) PARK PLANNING <br />Plint reguested that the Council consider appropriation of up to <br />$25,000 from C.D.B.G. funds to update the Comprehensive Plan as <br />it relates to parks, including the entire park system and <br />particularly the Crystal Bay site and the Orono Golf Course. <br />Mayor Peterson noted they would consider this request. <br />8
