An assistant teacher must be a*, .east 18 years old and <br />meet the qualifications in item C with the following exceptions: <br />A. A person employed as an assistant teacher on the <br />effective date of parts 9503.0005 to 9503.0170 who met the <br />qualifications in part 9545.0600, aubpart 1, item C, is <br />considered to meet the qualifications of an assistant teacher, <br />but must meet the qualifications in this part within throe years <br />of the effective date of parts 9503.0005 to 9503.0170. <br />I. Any new employee hired as an asaistant teacher <br />during the first three years after the effective date ef parts <br />9503.0005 to 9503.0170 must meet the qualifications in this part <br />or the license holder must document that the person hired at <br />least meets the qualifications in part 9545.0600, subpert 1, <br />item C, and that the person will meet the qualifications within <br />throe years ef the effective date of parts 9503.0005 to <br />9503.0170. <br />C. A registered nurse or licensed practical nurse is <br />qualified as an assistant teacher for infants only. <br />D. A registered nurse nay be used to meet the staff <br />to child ratios for an assistant teacher for sicx care i: a <br />center licensed to operats a sick care program. <br />E. An assistant teacher with the credential listed in <br />column A must heve the education and experience listed in column <br />Column A Column ■ <br />(1) ligh school diploma <br />or General Education <br />Development (CEO) <br />equivalency <br />Experience: 2,080 hours <br />as an aide or <br />student intern <br />Education: 12
