ORDINANCE NO.240 , THIRD SERIES <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES <br /> REMOVING LICENSING REQUIREMENTS FOR MARINAS <br /> AND JOINT USE FACILITIES, AND ADJUSTING <br /> THE PERMITTING REQUIREMENTS FOR SEASONAL AND JOINT USE DOCKS <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF ORONO ORDAINS: <br /> SECTION 1. Sec. 86-66 shall be amended by adding text to read as follows: <br /> Permits for Docks <br /> Sec. 86-66. -Required. <br /> (a)Permits required. It is unlawful for any person to erect, construct, enlarge, alter, repair, <br /> move, improve, remove, convert, or demolish any building or structure, or any part or portion, <br /> including but not limited to the general construction, plumbing, on-site sewage treatment <br /> system, wood stoves and fireplaces, ventilating, heating or air conditioning systems, or cause <br /> such work to be done, without first obtaining a separate building, sign, or general permit for <br /> each such building, structure or separate component from the city. <br /> Exception. Seasonal Docks, except for Joint Use facilities are exempt from this section. For <br /> the purposes of this section, seasonal docks are docks so designed and constructed that they may <br /> be removed from the Lake on a seasonal basis. All components such as supports, decking, and <br /> footings must be capable of removal by manual means without use of power equipment, <br /> machines, or tools other than handheld power tools. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 94,Article II Joint Use of Lake Facilities shall be amended by <br /> adding text to read as follows: <br /> ARTICLE II. -JOINT USE OF LAKE FACILITIES <br /> Sec. 94-36. - Definitions. <br /> The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings <br /> ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: <br /> Boat slip, land, means a structure, space or other thing designed or used for storing a boat <br /> temporarily or permanently on land adjacent to a lake, whether it is located on or off the licensed <br /> premises. <br /> Boat slip,permanent, means a boat slip on land or water used for the storing of a given boat <br /> on a long-term or yearly basis. <br /> Boat slip, transient, means a boat slip on land or water used for the temporary storage of <br /> many different boats for short periods of time. <br /> 1 <br />
