ORDINANCE NO.2�1,THIRD SERIES <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY,MINNESOTA <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORONO MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> BY AMENDING ARTICLE IV IN CHAPTER 94 <br /> REGARDING REGULATION OF WATERCRAFT ON LONG LAKE <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF ORONO ORDAINS: <br /> SECTION 1. The City of Orono Code of Ordinances, Chapter 94, Article IV, <br /> Regulation of Watercraft on Long Lake is repealed in its entirety. <br /> SECTION 2. The City of Orono Code of Ordinances, Chapter 94, Article IV, <br /> Regulation of Watercraft on Long Lake is adopted as follows. <br /> Sec. 94-136. -Definitions. <br /> The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, sha11 have the meanings <br /> ascribed to them in this section, except where the context cleazly indicates a different meaning: <br /> Lake means the lake known as Long Lake located in the cities of Orono and Long Lake, and <br /> designated as Lake Number 27016000 by the state department of natural resources. <br /> Personal watercraft means a motorboat that is powered by an inboard motor powering a water <br /> jet pump or by an outdoor or propeller-drive motor, and is designed to be operated by a person or <br /> persons sitting, standing, or kneeling on the craft,rather than in the conventional manner of sitting <br /> or standing inside a motorboat. <br /> Sec. 94-137. -Purpose, intent, application. <br /> The provisions of Minn. Stats. 86B, Water Safety and Watercraft, Minnesota Rule parts <br /> 6110.0100-.2300, boat and safety rules, are hereby incorporated herein and made a part of this <br /> article. <br /> Sec. 94-13 8. - Exempt personnel. <br /> All authorized resource management, emergency and enforcement personnel,while acting in <br /> the performance of their assigned duties, are exempt from restrictions of this article. <br /> Sec. 94-139. - Enforcement. <br /> The enforcement of this article shall be the primary responsibility of the peace officers of the <br /> county sheriff s department or the Orono Police Deparhnent.
