The city shall assign numbers in accordance with the standard <br /> plan adopted by the city and shall approve and assign all street names by action of the <br /> council. <br /> (c) Unlawful act. It is a misdemeanor for any person to fail to comply with the provisions of <br /> subsection (a) of this section or to post numbers other than the correct city-assigned <br /> numbers. If the property owner fails to comply with the requirements of this section, the city <br /> may erect a sign adjacent to the street on which the number is stated or affixed, and upon <br /> completion ascertain the cost and certify the cost to the county auditor to be collected as <br /> any other special assessment. <br /> 1 <br />
