SUMMARY ORDINANCE NO. 143, THIRD SERIES <br />CITY OF ORONO <br />HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />ORONO MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE SECTION 78-1379 <br />REGARDING WIND ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEMS <br />NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on April 13, 2015, Ordinance No. 142, Third <br />Series, was adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota. <br />NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that, because of the lengthy nature of Ordinance No. <br />142, Third Series, the following summary of the ordinance has been prepared for publication. <br />NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the ordinance adopted by the Council amends <br />Chapter 78 of the Orono City Code. This ordinance amends the Orono Zoning Code Sections <br />78-1379(c)(4) by deleting and adding certain definitions regarding Wind Energy Conversion <br />Systems. Additionally, this ordinance amends Section 78-1379(f) be eliminating the prohibition <br />on Wind Energy Conversion Systems and adding standards for the location, design, installation <br />and use of Small Wind Energy Conversion Systems (SWECS) in specified residential, <br />commercial and industrial zoning districts.
