.� <br /> � <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 123, THIRD SERIES <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> AN ORDINANCE <br /> AMENDING ORONO MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> CHAPTER 94, WATERWAYS, BY AMENDING SECTION 94-136 <br /> AND ADDING SECTION 94-143 <br /> REGULATING THE OPERATION AND SPEED <br /> OF WATERCRAFT ON LONG LAKE <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO, MINNESOTA ORDAINS: <br /> SECTION 1. Orono City Code Chapter 94 - Waterways, Article IV. Regulation of Watercraft <br /> on Long Lake is hereby amended by adding the following definitions to Section 94-136. <br /> Definitions: <br /> O�aerate. To navigate or otherwise use a watercraft. <br /> Persons: Includes an individual, partnership, corporation, or any body of persons <br /> whether incorporated or formed into an association or not. <br /> Slow-no wake.The operation of a watercraft at the slowest possible speed necessary to <br /> maintain steerage, but in no case greater than five miles per hour. <br /> Wa2ercrc� Any and all kinds or types of flotation vessels designed for use on the <br /> water, whether or not motorized, including,but not limited to boats, canoes, kayaks, rowing <br /> shells, sculls,jet skis, ski-doos, pedal craft, pontoon boats, inflatable crafts, tubes, or wind- <br /> propelled surf boards. <br /> SECTION 2. Orono City Code Chapter 94 - Waterways, Article IV. Regulation of Watercraft <br /> on Long Lake is hereby amended by adding Section 94-143. Special Slow-No Wake Provisions, <br /> to read as follows: <br /> (a) b�tent cn�a'pca�aase. Pursuant to Minn. Stats. 868.201-205, 459.20 and Minnesota Rules <br /> Parts 6110.3000-6110.3700, it is the purpose of this section to regulate the operation and <br /> speed of watercraft on Long Lake. <br /> (b) Regulation No person shall operate a watercraft at greater than slow-no wake speed on <br /> Long Lake whenever the water level exceeds 945.00 feet and has remained at that level for at <br /> least three consecutive days. The slow-no wake restriction shall remain in place until the lake <br /> level drops to 945.00 feet or below. <br /> (c) F;xer�xr'ons Authorized resource management, emergency and enforcement personnel, <br /> when acting in the performance of their duties, shall be exempt from the provisions of this <br /> ordinance. <br /> Page 1 of 2 ` <br />
