SUMMARY ORDINANCE NO. 101, THIRD SERIES <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS <br /> 78-1, 78-303, 78-328, 78-348, 78-367, 78-394, 78-419, 78-443 AND 78-566 <br /> OF THE ORONO MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br /> REGARDING DEFINITIONS, CONDITIONAL USES AND ACCESSORY USES <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO, MINNESOTA ORDAINS: <br /> NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on February 25, 2013, Ordinance No. 100, Third <br /> Series, was adopted by the City Council of the City of Orono, Minnesota. <br /> NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that, because of the lengthy nature of Ordinance No. <br /> 100, Third Series, the following summary of the ordinance has been prepared for publication. <br /> NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the ordinance adopted by the Council amends <br /> Chapter 78 of the Orono City Code. This ordinance amends the Orono Zoning Code Sections <br /> 78-303, 78-328, 78-348 and 78-367 by revising language regarding the keeping of farm animals <br /> as a conditional use in Lakeshore Residential Zoning Districts. The ordinance further amends the <br /> Orono Zoning Code Sections 78-394. 78-419 and 78-443 by revising language regarding the <br /> keeping of farm animals as an accessory use in Rural Residential Districts. The Ordinance <br /> eliminates references to the need for a conditional use permit for the keeping of farm animals as <br /> an accessory use in the RR-1 A, RR-1 B and RR-1 B-1 zoning districts. The Ordinance eliminates <br /> provisions for City Council discretion in reducing the required pasture acreage for horses in all <br /> Lakeshore Residential and Rural Residential Districts. The ordinance amends the definitions of <br /> `Animal unit' and `Pasture' in Section 78-1.
