Yard requirements means those requirements which relate exclusively to the size of yard <br /> areas when such are required within specific zoning districts. <br /> Yard, side, means a yard extending along the side lot line between the front and rear <br /> yards, having a width as specified in the yard regulations for the district in which such lot is <br /> located. <br /> Yard, side street, means a side yard abutting a side street. <br /> SECTION 2. The following language has been deleted and added to Section 78-227 (Permitted <br /> Uses) of the Orono City Code is hereby amended as follows: <br /> Sec. 78-227. Permitted uses. <br /> Within any R-lA one-family residential district, no structure or land shall be used except <br /> for one or more of the following uses: <br /> (1) itv-owned nublic service structures that have <br /> been annroved bv the Citv Council after the reauired nublic hearings for nublic <br /> imnrovement nroiects,nrovided that: <br /> a. All buildin�s are located at least 50 feet from anv adiacent nronertv zoned <br /> for residential use. <br /> b. The architectural desiQn of the structure is found to be comnatible with the <br /> sunoundin� area. <br /> c. If the citv nronoses amendment to the annroved desisn nlans or the <br /> nlacement of the structure. notice of the nronosed changes shall be mailed <br /> to all nronertv owners within 350 feet of the narcel on which the structure <br /> is to be located. If the tironosed structure is to be located within a nublic <br /> ri�ht-of-wav. nronertv owners within 350 feet of the structure shall be <br /> mailed notice of the nronosed chan�es. Notice shall be mailed at least 14 <br /> davs before the council meetine at which the amended nlans will be <br /> considered. <br /> {-�} 2�. Municipal buildings. <br /> {4� 3� Nonrental guest apartments (no exterior ingress or egress). An apartment within <br /> the principal residence structure on a lot for the sole use of the occupants of the <br /> principal residence, including their domestic employees or nonpaying guests. The <br /> only means of ingress or egress to the apartment shall be from within the principal <br /> structure. Application for such a guest apartment shall address the concerns of <br /> 153661v2 13 <br />
