ORDINANCE NO. 57 <br /> CITY OF ORONO <br /> HENNEPIN COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORONO CITY CODE CONCERNING <br /> PARADES AND SPECIAL EVENTS PERMITS <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ORONO, MINNESOTA ORDAINS: <br /> Section 1. Orono City Code Section 66-191 is amended to add the underlined language: <br /> Special event means any marathon run,block party, fishing contest,parachute jump, hot- <br /> air balloon event, carnival, open house held as part of a home tour, or any other activity or event <br /> which in some way impedes or affects the free and unobstructed flow of vehicular or pedestrian <br /> traffic, generates parking needs for more than 20 vehicles off the site at any one time on <br /> residential streets, not including a public access to Lake Minnetonka, or requires the posting of <br /> no parking signs to maintain compliance with traffic laws and regulations. <br /> Section 2. Orono City Code Sections 66-223 to 66-225 are amended by adding the <br /> underlined language and deleting the s�lc���language: <br /> Sec. 66-223. Application. <br /> (a) Application for a parade or special event permit shall be made to the city at least b8 <br /> 14 days in advance of the date on which the parade or special event is to occur unless waived by <br /> the se�s�city administrator or desiQnee if, after due consideration of the date time place and <br /> nature of the narade or special event the anticinated number of participants and the city services <br /> required in connection with the event the citv administrator or designee determines that the <br /> waiver will not nresent a hazard to public safet� <br /> (b) The applicant shall fill out a form provided by the city administrator or desigr�ee, <br /> stating the: <br /> (1) Applicant's name, address, and telephone <br /> number(includinQ the telephone number(s) in which the applicant can be reached on <br /> the da o�the parade or snecial eventl; <br /> (2) Proposedparade�route or location of special event; <br /> {�} Time of commencement and termination_and date when the parade or special event is <br /> to occur; a� <br /> (4) es�er�Anticipated number of varticipants; <br /> (5) Shuttle bus vlan for participants and location of off-site ap rking for open houses• <br /> 144532 1 <br />
