MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING <br />HELD MARCH 8, 1993 <br />MAYOR/COUNCIL REPORT <br />A) Mayor Callahan suggested a work session to begin reviewing the <br />various activities of the City, and another work session prior to <br />the next scheduled Highway 12 committee meetings. He asked If the <br />status report will be suppiled to Counci I as requested by Jabbour. <br />Moorse said staff is working on the report. <br />B) Kelley reported he has met with the City Administrator to review <br />information dealing with the Long Lake Fire Department and their <br />budget versus expenditures. <br />C) KeIiey reported he had lunch with Todd VanDellen to reiterate <br />Orono’s land use phi losophy and to stress the importance of the <br />Highway 12 issue. <br />ENGINEER’S REPORT <br />There was no report. <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR’S REPORT <br />(#12) VOLUNTEER COMMISSION CANDIDATE INTERVIEWS <br />Mayor Callahan suggested the Council interview and appoint at the <br />next meeting members to the Park Commission and West Hennepin Human <br />Services Planning Board, and to begin to interview the candidates <br />for Planning Commission. <br />Kelley said he would like to see a uniform evaluation sheet for <br />Planning Commission applicants. <br />Jabbour suggested not Interviewing all candidates In one evening, <br />or to have them wait outside the Chambers until their turn so as <br />not to influence their answers. <br />Hurr asked that the Council be provided with a fact sheet on each <br />of the Planning Commission members to be reappointed. <br />(#13) NEW CITY FACILITIES OPEN HOUSE PLANS <br />No action was necessary.
