CITY OF ORONO <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> NO. 7447 <br /> A RESOLUTION <br /> APPROVING A VARIANCE FROM <br /> MUNICIPAL ZONING CODE <br /> SECTION 78-1700 <br /> FILE NO. LA23-000064 <br /> WHEREAS, on November 9, 2023, Brent Waldron ("Applicant"), applied for a variance from <br /> the City Code for the property addressed 2405 Dunwoody Avenue and legally described as: <br /> That part of Lot 2, Block 8, Townsite of Langdon Park, described as follows: <br /> Beginning at a point in the Northeasterly line of said Lot 2, distant 5.00 feet southeasterly <br /> from the Northeast corner of said Lot 2, thence southwesterly parallel with the <br /> Southeasterly line of said Lot 2 to the shore of Lake Minnetonka, thence southeasterly <br /> along said shore to the Southeasterly line of said Lot 2, thence northeasterly along said <br /> Southeasterly line to the most Easterly corner of said Lot 2, thence northwesterly along the <br /> Northeasterly line of said Lot 2 to the point of beginning, Hennepin County, Minnesota <br /> (hereinafter the"Property"); <br /> WHEREAS, the Applicant has made an application to the City of Orono for a variance to <br /> Orono Municipal Zoning Code Section 78-1700 to allow the construction of an addition to the <br /> home over the existing driveway hardcover which exceeds 25%; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 16, 2024, after published and mailed notice in accordance with <br /> Minnesota Statutes and the City Code, the Planning Commission held a public hearing, at which <br /> time all persons desiring to be heard concerning this application were allowed to speak thereon; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 16, 2024, the Planning Commission recommended approval of <br /> the variance by a 4 to 0 vote; and <br /> WHEREAS, on February 12, 2024, the City Council reviewed the application and the <br /> recommendations of the Planning Commission and City staff; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Orono, Minnesota <br /> hereby approves the requested variance as described above based on one or more of the <br /> following findings of fact concerning the Property: <br /> 1 <br />
