COUNCinHEEnNG
TO:
FROM:
DATE:
Ron Moorse, City Administration
John R. Gerhardson, Public Works Directo
February 18, 1993
i EB 2 2 1993
CITYOFORONO
SUBJECT: Summit Park Swimming Beach Expansion and Canoe Rack
Over the past few months the Park Commission has been
considering the installation of a canoe rack at Summit Park
Swimming Beach, as well as expanding the size of the controlled
area of the swimming beach.
The canoe rack is being proposed due to 3 request from
residents who do not live on the lake but enjoy canoeing and do not
wish to transport their canoes each time they wish to canoe. The
Park Commission is proposing a 4-6 place rack to be installed at
the northeast corner of the property.
I have attached information from the Park Commission on the
above matter. The Park Commission invited the neighbors of the
park to the February Park Commission meeting to receive their
comments. One resident appeared and was only concerned about
increased use of the swimming beach and the location of the canoe
rack.
