Any connection <br />piping at a depth less than 42" or underneath driveways or parking areas that will <br />be cleared of snow during the winter, shall be provided with suitable insulation. <br />The State Health Department requires a minimum separation of 20 ’ betwr . <br />wells and air tested sewer lines, 50 ’ between wells and non-air tested lines. If <br />your connection must be between 20 ’ and 50 ’ from your well or a neighbor’s <br />well, your contractor will be required to air test your connection. <br />Upon connection, the quarterly sewer scr\’ice charge will be $51.15 (1993 rate). <br />Once sewer is available for connection, you are required to connect within 90 <br />days, 16 months, or 5 years depending on your existing septic system confonnity. <br />According to City polity, all propenies wil’ begin to pay the full sanitary sewer <br />fee at the end of the designated connection period whether they have connected <br />to the system or not. <br />Those properties that have been allowed up to 5 years to connect will continue <br />to be charg<*H the annual septic fee of $50.00 until they connect to the sewer <br />system. In addition the agreement to provide for the 5 year connection period <br />included the requirement that those properties with the 5 year connection period <br />would begin to pay an "unconnected property charge" 16 months from the date <br />of project completion. This fee, which is based on the cost of maintaining the <br />sewer system, is currently set at $24.30/quarter.
