Any connection
piping at a depth less than 42" or underneath driveways or parking areas that will
be cleared of snow during the winter, shall be provided with suitable insulation.
The State Health Department requires a minimum separation of 20 ’ betwr .
wells and air tested sewer lines, 50 ’ between wells and non-air tested lines. If
your connection must be between 20 ’ and 50 ’ from your well or a neighbor’s
well, your contractor will be required to air test your connection.
Upon connection, the quarterly sewer scr\’ice charge will be $51.15 (1993 rate).
Once sewer is available for connection, you are required to connect within 90
days, 16 months, or 5 years depending on your existing septic system confonnity.
According to City polity, all propenies wil’ begin to pay the full sanitary sewer
fee at the end of the designated connection period whether they have connected
to the system or not.
Those properties that have been allowed up to 5 years to connect will continue
to be charg<*H the annual septic fee of $50.00 until they connect to the sewer
system. In addition the agreement to provide for the 5 year connection period
included the requirement that those properties with the 5 year connection period
would begin to pay an "unconnected property charge" 16 months from the date
of project completion. This fee, which is based on the cost of maintaining the
sewer system, is currently set at $24.30/quarter. Please contact Steve Weekman,
On-Site Systems Manager, regarding your connection deadline.
If you have other questions or comments, piease feel free to contact me; Bruce Vang.
