Gaffron, Assistant Planning & Zoning Adminisifti <br />December 0. 1993 <br />mVOFORON <br />Subject: Status Report - B-2 Zoning District Review <br />Following is a brief review of the activity of the Planning Commission to date regarding <br />the B-2 zoning district review; <br />• April 8, 1993 - Planning Commissioti reviewed March 10. 1993 staff memo including <br />draft Section 10 41 amendments. Planning Commission concluded they needed more <br />direction from Council. B-2 public hearing originally scheduled for April 19 was <br />postponed indefinitely (and would need to be rescheduled). <br />• May 1993 - New Planning Coinmission appointments resulted in four new members. <br />• August 18. 1993 - Joint CourKil/Planning Commission work session - Council reviewed <br />B-2 issues and Council goals w ith Planning Commission. <br />• September 14. 1993 - Planning Commission work session on D-2 - Staff gave overview <br />of B-2 disirict. historv of regulations, etc. Planning Commission requested staff to <br />provide site plans and specific infomntion on each marina, then Planning Commission <br />should visit each site and meet again to prioritize what things rwed to be changed The <br />next meeting should perhaps include additional input from the marimis if possible, to get <br />a better sense of what the marinas really want to be Staff to confirm what is the status <br />of marina regulation in other l,al.e MiniKtonka cities, and discuss with City Attorney <br />where our limits arc in regards to requiring changes to long standing conditions. <br />• I he packet of information was provided to each Planning Commissioner sfH)rily after the <br />9/14 93 meeting, and in October it was suggested to the members that they visit the <br />mannas individually due to the problem in coordinating schedules with members and the <br />marinas. <br />• Some Planning Ct'mmiNsioicrs have visited marinas to date. <br />® The next work >csv»«*** i,r B 2 is scheduled tor Wednesday, December 15, 1993 at 5:0U <br />P m in the ('tninci.'
