R.R. and the
Luce Line Trail in part of the S.W. Quarter,
Section 35, Township 118, Range 23 In City of Orono
Hennepin County
Dear Mr. Huhlch:
He are in receipt of the above referenced plat with your letter of Septenber 15
for our review in accordance with Minnesota Statutes 505.02 and 505.03 Plats
and Surveys. As you are aware, the Department of Transportation has proposed
that TH 12 be reconstructed on a new alignment in this area. A preliminary
plan prepared several years ago for this location Indicated that new TH 12
would pass throu^ the middle of the proposed plat. However, at the present
time, the project Is not programied and there Is no schedule for Its construc
tion. The Department Is currently preparing a state transportation plan which,
when It Is conpleted next July, may give some indication as to whether the
project will be given further consideration.
He are not now In a position to determine a preferred alignment for new TH 12.
He would not anticipate location approval before some time well into the 1980's
even If the project were given a high priority. He note, however, that the
City of Orono has Indicated that new TH 12 would be relocated In this vicinity
according to its Comprehensive Guide Plan. If the city were to s^ke a success
ful effort to limit development In the corridor Indicated by the guide, it
would seem that that corridor would then be considered as a prime contender
when and If a location is selected In the future.
An BqumI Opporiitniiy Employer
-imm
vW
-V::
Mr. Henry F. 1
October 6, 19
Page 2
Ve regret the
have no forth
designated tr
or E.
