1. <br />2. <br />3. <br />4. <br />5. <br />1. <br />8. <br />9. <br />TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br />CIVIL DEFENSE SIREN <br />ORONO, MINNESOTA <br />This specification is for the design, fabrication, painting, testing, <br />and delivery of siren/PA equipment and control equipment for the <br />public warning system for the City of Orono. <br />The system shall be designed to produce electronic siren signals with <br />an average sound level of 124dB at 100 feet and reproduce voice <br />signals with a sound lev§l of 120dB. The sirens shall be two tone, <br />three signal, fire alert^^and attack. <br />Siren/PA units are'to be designed to operate in an outdoor environ­ <br />ment. Each unit shall contain a speaker cluster and control cabinet <br />designed for the housing of panel mounted electronic assemblies, <br />batteries, and related components. <br />The.Contractor shall furnish, or arrange for labor, materials required <br />for the complete installation and operation of the sirens, including J <br />mounting poles and all electrical controls. The sirens will be mounte <br />on Class 1 poles 55 feet long furnished by the Contractor and mounted <br />according to the manufacturer's recommended specifications. All <br />components of the sirens shall be installed on the poles with no part <br />thereof lower than 10 feet from the ground. <br />The installation will include all necessary equipment to operate the <br />sirens from the metro net-system on the radio control system. <br />Sirens shall operate on 110 or 220 volt systems.* Bids shall include <br />any power company charges in connection with such installations. <br />• • <br />The siren will oe installed at the following location; <br />City of Orono - Water Treatment Plant <br />2345 Blaine Avenue <br />Located in Ncvarre <br />Siren shall be equipped with a timer to activate alert, <br />attack, and test/cancel signals. <br />Siren shall be set up with the necessary equipment to receive <br />Hennepin County's signal that will activate the fire siren only, <br />llie siren will be set up for radio controls that will activate <br />the alert and attack signals from the metro net warning system. <br />Si-]
