MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION <br />OF ORONO INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 278 <br />HELD ON AUGUST 9, 1993 <br />The _.^gular meeting of the Board of Education of Orono Independent <br />School District No. 278 was held on Monday, June 14, 1993. <br />Present; Dave McKown John Maresh Thomas Mich <br />James Franklin Martha Van de Ven Neal Lawson <br />Absent: Peg Swanson, Pamela Schroeder <br />UPON MOTION by Jim Franklin, seconded by John Maresh, the consent <br />agenda was approved as follows: <br />- approved the minutes of the July 1, 1993 <br />Annual meeting; <br />approved the appointment of Peggy Adam as a part-time <br />early childhood special education teacher at Orono <br />Primary School for the 1993-94 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Margaret MacCarthy-Knutson as <br />a 5th grade teacher at Orono Middle School for the 1993- <br />94 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Cady Stauss as a music <br />teacher at Orono Middle School for the 1993-94 school <br />year; <br />- approved the appointment of Karl Peterson as a math <br />teacher at Orono High School for the 1993-94 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Tim Haislet as <br />biology/chemistry teacher at Orono High School for the <br />1993-94 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Susan Jensen as <br />speech/language teacher at Orono Primary School for the <br />1993-94 school year; <br />- approved the appointment of Holly Elias as a psychologist <br />for the Orono School District for the 1993-94 school <br />year; <br />- accepted the resignation of Rosemarie Ehalt, special <br />education secretary, effective June 25, 1993; <br />approved the request of Mary Ann Stinson, Schumann <br />Elementary secretary, for a six (6) month continuation of <br />her leave of absence; <br />approved the fund-raising efforts of the Orono Tennis <br />Association to raise approximately $5,000 to enhance the <br />proposed storage and viewing facility for the high school <br />tennis courts; <br />approved the Activity Fund Report for fourth quarter, <br />1993; <br />approved the Activity Fund Annual Report - 1992-93; <br />approved the bills as covered by vouchers 078704 through <br />079062 and office checks as covered by vouchers 3675 <br />through 3844. <br />Motion carried.
