Gerhardson, Public Works Director <br />September 21, 1993 <br />SUBJECT: Private Road Inventory <br />Attached is a list of the private roads within the City of <br />Orono. <br />The list is separated to show what has to be done to each road <br />and an engineers estimate of costs to bring the road up to City <br />standards. <br />The roads are classified as follows: <br />1. Complete reconstruction - <br />Testing will have to be done to determine base and or <br />bituminous depth as there is not much information available on <br />the majority of these roads. The costs do not take in to <br />account correcting bad soils or tree removal or Right-of-Way <br />acquisition. <br />2. Patch and overlay - <br />If the road is already paved some repairs will have to be <br />done and or adding another layer of bituminous to meet City <br />standards. <br />3. Overlay - <br />The road is already paved, no major repairs are needed <br />but bituminous thickness does not meet City specification. <br />4 .Seal Coat - <br />The road meets City standards and will require a seal <br />coating before being accep'-ed as a City maintained street. <br />The total lots and mileage in each category are as follows: <br />1.Seal coat 195 lots 6.02 miles <br />2 .Overlay 58 lots 1.56 miles <br />3 .Patch & Overlay 68 lots 1,70 miles <br />4 .Complete Reconstruction <br />Total <br />122. <br />513 <br />lots <br />lots <br />5t51 milM <br />14.79 miles
