MINUTES OF THE REGULAR ORONO COUNCIL MEETING <br />HELD SEPTEMBER 13, 1993 <br />CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br />(•#10) STUBBS BAY SEWER RECONSTRUCTION ON LEAF STREET - FURCHNER <br />PROPERTY <br />Although this item was on the Consent Agenda, Mayor Callahan commented that Mr. Furchnei <br />had contacted him and thanked the Council and staff for their help in resolving his problems. <br />(#11) SIX MONTH FINANCIAL REPORT <br />Mayor Callahan suggested this matter be moved to the work session scheduled for October 4th <br />for discussion. <br />Kelley commented that he was pleased with the report. <br />It was moved by Mayor Callahan, seconded by Jabbour, to accept the report as presented. <br />(•#12) UNDERGROUND TANK REMOVAL CONSULTANT <br />It was moved by Jabbour, seconded by Goetten, to designate Braun Intertec as the consultant for <br />the underground r mk removal for an amount of $1,950.00. Ayes 4, nays 0. <br />(#13) RECORDER CONTRACT <br />Moorse reported that the recorder’s contract would be for approximately $4,300.00 per year <br />The previous recorder was paid approxinuitely $6,000.00 annually. Moorse conftimed that this <br />is a better solution than having the City Cleric do the recording of meetings. <br />It was moved by Mayor Callahan, seconded by Jabbour. to approve the selection of the recorder <br />per the fee schedule as outlined in the memo dated September 10. 1993. Ayes 4. nays 0. <br />(#14) 1994 BUDGET AND PROPOSED TAX LEVY - RESOLUTION #3323 <br />Mayor Callahan suggested tltat the budgeted amount of $1,916,637 be increased by $60,000. <br />The levy for the 1989 sewer and water bonds of $25,000 is not sufTicienl to cover the debt <br />service on the bonds, and the building fund should not be drawn down in principal for <br />purpose of helping the General Fund. Each of these items is about $60,000 but he did not think <br />the budget should be increased by $120,000. Jabbour agreed. <br />Mayor Callahan noted that the maximum amount than can be levied is the amount determined <br />at this meeting. Internally the levy can be reallocated but not increased. <br />It was moved by Jabbour. seconded by Kelley, to adopt Resolution #3323 approving the <br />proposed maximum 1993 tax levy collectible in 1994 of $1,967,637. Ayes 4, nays 0.
