L)ear Ms. Mabu«<th; This request is for a permit to receive conditional approval for the placement of additional fill material at the existing site. The new material will be coming from a joint project between the Minnehaha Creek VVSD and the Citv of VVay/ata. The project is called the Gleason Creek Improvements - Basic Water Management Project. The vvork includes the excavation of two large ponding and edimentation baiiin;; to reduce flooding in the city. The existing conditional permit for 20,000 cubic yards expires in October of 1**^, and has a balance of 17,000 yard remaining from previous work. .Approximately 7000 cubic yards of material will be placed in late luly and early August under the existing permit. I his material will be coming from the ■-mailer. Lakeside pond. The larger pond will be constructed through the fall and winter, resulting in approximately 50.000 cubic yards of fill material. 10,00 yards of this material will apply to the completion of the existing permit The material will be hauled to the site by' tandem and/or truck and trailer. The haul route will be from Wayzata via Hwy. 12 through Long Lake to the fill '-ite. We are requesting the citv approve the application for a period of two years, commencing at the time of approval. Either the owner or the contractor will provide the oty with a letter of credit for the project.
