There is a need in the <br />community for the kind of service this facility coimld offer. <br />Secondly there is no question that the use of solar energy for <br />a project of this sort is exciting. Thirdly the area surrounding the <br />property is and to a largo extent will remain non-residential. <br />The community which includes Orono and the surrounding tovmships lacks <br />a well run convienient facility for the boarding of small animals, <br />A survey I did of the veterinary clinics which serve the area in <br />dicated that the type of facility offering boarding services is in <br />demand. As the population increases so will the need in the commun <br />ity for this type of service, <br />m <br />The building design incorporates the use of a solar collection <br />system, I feel that this is an important part of my plan and <br />could be an interesting addition to the community in this <br />respect. <br />This particular piece of property is situated between two well <br />traveled roads, highway 12 and County Rd, 6, The adjioning pro <br />perties in three directions are non-residential in nature, j^orth <br />is K,T, Raker park and the park Gun Club, South is the State of <br />Kinnesota Highway Department and the Burlington Northern Line, <br />West is a snail farmenrs market. The potential residential land is <br />to the East and situated at least 300 feet form the intended site <br />of the kennel building. <br />In all the comsmunity would benefit from the services of the facility <br />and the location is such that it minimizes the infringaemt on indi-vl- <br />dual land ovrners rights and freedom.
