Box 66 <br />Crystal Bay, MN 55323 <br />RE: City of Orono <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment Review <br />Comprehensive Sewer Plan Update <br />Metropolitan Council Referral File No. 14023-4 <br />Dear Mr. Gaffron: <br />At its meeting on April 22, 1993, the Metropolitan Council considered the city of Orono’s <br />comprehensive plan amendment. This consideration was based on a report of the Committee of the <br />Whole. A copy of this report is attached. <br />The Cbuncil approved the following recommendations contained in the above report: <br />1. That the Metropolitan Council adopt the findings and the staff report as part of these <br />recommendations. <br />2. That the Metropolitan 0>A^ns;.I inform the city of Orono that it may adept the amendment <br />and no plan modificatior a fCijuired. <br />3. <br />4. <br />That the Metropolitan Council inform the city of Orono that its rural service area policies <br />and land use controls qualify the city as an exception to the Council’s Rural Service Area <br />policies. <br />lhat the Metropolitan Council recommend that the city of Orono to complete its 1981 HI <br />Analysis update, establish an inspection program to eliminate illegal clear water <br />connections, and prepare and submit annual progress reports to the Metropolitan Waste <br />Control Commission and the Metropolitan Cbuncil of actions taken to solve infiltration and <br />inflow problems in the munidpal sanitary sewer system. <br />Recycled Paper
